thanks difo. I tried greek yogurt and now I LOVE it. I can say I never thought it would be possible for me to love yogurt. I don’t know why I like this stuff but not regular yogurt. Maybe it’s the consistency. My new favorite snack is fage 2% with cinnamon and a drizzle of honey.
I also stuck to my vow to try cottage cheese. The jury is still out. I had it on broiled tomatoes with chili powder. That was great, but since it was cooked, I didn’t really taste the cc. I feel like I cheated. So I’ll have to try it a different way.

Yay
. I love greek yogurt too! And I used to REALLY dislike cottage cheese. Actually, I’m still not too big of a fan of it, EXCEPT for Friendship Whipped 1% cottage cheese. That’s the only one I really really like, and I’ve been going through 2-3 tubs of it a week!
I love my greek yogurt. I also love it just with honey and berries. But I have also use it to make a mayo substitute- I mix it the greek yogourt with half of light mayo and use it to put on my sandwhices instead of just the light mayo so it is lower in calories.
I also use it on baked potatoes and chilis instead of sour cream.
i think i may need to give this. greek yogurt a try too.
where do you buy it?. How many calories?
fyi. I get mine from Trader Joe’s (their brand), 2% low fat plain, 160 calories for one serving (one cup), 30 cals from fat, 24g of protein. I like it with honey (and berries if I have them), and I’ll sometimes toss some granola in.
Greek yogurt has the consistency of sour cream and is about as sweet (i.e., not).
You really don’t need to go to TJ’s or WF to find this stuff anymore. I have also seen it in the big box grocery stores. But be careful of the fat content; fage can be a killer.
that’s a fun discovery. i like my greek yogurt with honey and cinnamon, too.
i have been getting into cottage cheese lately. i like mixing it with cinnamon and pumpkin puree. Or honey and almonds. I convince myself I am eating dessert when I do that. But dare I add pumpkin, cinnamon, honey and almonds to cottage cheese all at once…
I am trying to hold myself back from doing that.
I like your idea of cc with tomatoes and chili powder. I don’t think that’s “cheating” at all – you tried it, and liked it. That counts!
