Poll time: Santa is coming. So I have a few minutes to procrastinate here at work, hence it’s time for a poll.
Santa is coming to your house, but due the recent economic downturns, he only gets to spend $100 on you. What would you like him to bring you?
You can spend all your $100 on diet related stuff, or fitness related stuff, or a combination of the two, but you only get the total of $100 and it’s got to fall in one of those two categories.

Clothing. New sports bra and outfit, something less frumpy than advertising tshirt and shorts.
AND that fit better. my winter workout pants are L and XL.
:/
I think I need a M for the bottom half.
Hmmm can he just put it towards my electric bill §.
That’s actually a great idea – we do it. For those family members who are either low on income or live in a very cold climate/drafty house, we have done exactly that – for folks in that situation, they are far happier with “help on the utility bill” than having more stuff to store and dust.
Ooooh! I know!. I need some new workout pants and shirts!
I’ll take one of these
http://www.championusa.com/Champion/Products/Women-Champion/Women_ShopByCategory-Champion/Women_Sale-Champion/CH6794.aspx
and one of these
http://www.championusa.com/CHAMPION/Products/Women-Champion/Women_ShopByCategory-Champion/Women_Pants-Champion/Women_Pants_Bestsellers-Champion/CH3918.aspx
and maybe some new socks too!
I would like him. to bring me a few new sports bras, socks, and some sorta veggie steamer im not sure what kind I want yet.
Small weights. I need to do some more back exercises, and there are some which require 2.5, 5 and 10 pound weights. Acquired used.
$100 isn’t an issue here – we haven’t spent that much on the holidays in many years. Everybody we know has so much stuff that they feel the need for bigger homes – the wrong direction for today’s America.
Our friends and family, about 20 years ago, agreed – nobody is permitted to buy “stuff” for the holidays. Edibles, favors, and companionship are the only permissible gifts unless a specific request is made.
I put in my request for the weights, but given our penchant for buying nothing new (because of the detrimental effect that manufacturing has on the environment), it’ll only happen if “that special someone” found a set used.
I am SO WITH YOU!!! (warning: hijack). Spending as much time as I do away from big cities, I’ve become aware of just how badly our belief that “buying things solves all problems” is trashing the whole planet.
My brother gave me a link to this 20 minute online movie:
http://www.storyofstuff.com/
I think we all need to watch it and contemplate, before we continue with our desires for more “stuff”.
What I would ask for, for Christmas, is this:
- paid entry fee into at least FIVE 10K runs
- a minimum of six hikes in our nearby hilly forest, with lunch made by…OK, that is the next item
- a “him” around all the time, to make lunches for those hikes (not quite DiFo related, but still…I can hope, right?)
new running shoes. which I’ve needed since May.
gift certificate at. Potomac River Running to be applied towards new running shoes
i love prr!. and a gift certificate towards new running shoes would be great.
oooh easy!. Boxing cloves, Muay thai shorts, shin gaurds, some new sports bras. That should be atleast 100 bucks there. but all things that I could really use. Of course santa isnt coming to my house this year anyway, damn him.
thats Gloves. Not cloves. §.
But you’ll smell very festive! §.
lol I agree…. when I first saw that I had put cloves, I thought of some sort of strange clove oil or something. I bet that exists somewhere.
Here ya go!. Happy Hannukah!
http://www.themagickmoon.com/clove-fragrance-oil.html
Hanukkah. Meant to check that.
Kids are acting like animals, right now.
ot for carbie. i posted this yesterday, but i don’t think you were around, and i thought you would get a kick out it:
New Hannukah Song – Fa La Freezing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4EJfUtYknU
Hrmmm…. I would like the 30 day shred DVD and a few palates of fresh fruit for our new juicer, please!
For a chuckle…

$100 horseback riding gift certificate §.
A food scale,. and new workout clothes, especially shorts, socks, and sports bras!
I would go. with a food scale. I think when I get back into hard core dieting again that it would be very useful.
I would use the remaining funds for gift certs to be used for entering races. I like the community feeling of doing 5K races, but after a while they can add up. I know most give part of it to charity, but it still can be a lot after a while.
mine would have been…. ordering precision nutrition during their $97 sale, but since i’ve done that already I think would attend a seminar with a coach of my choice speaking or maybe get a one-on-one training session to really get my form down with a real trainer.
then I want grass fed beef and lots of it! §.
pretty easy. 2 pairs maternity workout pants and a prenatal yoga dvd
and also a bottle of Diet 7-Up, Pomegranate.
it is a “for the season only” edition and available for a limited time. i heard raves about it on a message board and have searched grocery store after grocery for it – but i do not think it is being distributed in my area.
i make my own “soda” with Just Pomegranate and seltzer water, but i really would like to try the 7-Up version.
a session (or two?) with a trainer. Make sure I’m doing everything right and to show me new stuff to do.
session or 2 with trainer. call me Craig 703-4338
boooo! Christmas spam, yuck! §.
a trip to the massage therapist. *sigh* §.
resubsciption to the body bugg §.
1. Winter running gear.. 2. Cooking thermometer. It’s difo related, because whenever I cook fish, I feel like I need a thermometer. My last one got melted.
1 personal training session. So that I don’t have to buy a whole package deal before I know if I like it or not…
And if there’s anything leftover… I want a bunch of tupperware for my new (hopefully) massive fridge.
I can’t tell you how nice it will be to have a real refrigerator…
Hmmm. New running shoes, running clothes, a Whole Foods shopping spree…
