Thanks. Thanks for the advice, I don't have much protein I guess, I usually do some sort of protein for dinner, chicken or turkey . I just feel like if I eat alot I gain weight, if I don't eat alot I still don't lose any weight. I have a very unhealthy realtionship with food, and I know this is part of my problem. Perhaps I should forgo the popcorn and go get a sald from the salad bar?

I just started last Thursday and I've lost somewhere between 3-5 lbs. Depending when I weight myself...lol

I Agree. You should try to have a bit of protien with each meal will help you feel fuller too. Its my understanding not enough protien with your carbs causes your body to dip into your muscle for protien.

You are eating a lot of carbs.. and almost no protein.Perhaps if you switched the popcorn/carrots for lunch to a nice salad with 4 oz chicken breast. Switch the pretzels for carrot and celery sticks. Also, maybe switch the bread for 1/2 cup Fibre One cereal and an egg? Maybe that would help.

Helpful Advice. You need to make sure that you are eating at least 1200 calories a day. If you try to eat any fewer calories than this, your body will go into starvation mode and actually retain fat. You're doing great on the exercise! You just need to make sure your body is getting the nutrients it needs. Good luck!

Others have touched on diet, but your exercise. description is quite vague. What is involved in those 45 min of cardio and 15-20 min of strength?

Also, conventional wisdom says to allow your muscles to rest 48 hours in between strength training sessions. Maybe you're doing upper body one day and lower the next, but that's generally not the most efficient way to lift.

I'd probably be. starving and cranky if I ate what you'd eaten today.

Your meals and snacks are essentially ALL carbs...mostly simple carbs, too (no whole grains). And where are your fruits and veggies?

Meals should have a good balance of complex carbs/fiber, protein, and some healthy fat. Fiber and protein help fill you up, and fats slow digestion so you stay full longer. If you eat meals and snacks of nothing but carbs, it's very quickly digested and causes extreme changes in blood sugar levels. For most people, this means you are starving again about an hour after you eat. Also, eating tons of carbs makes your body hold on to water like crazy.

Just as an idea, I know I'd be personally a lot happier with a day that looked more like this (using your current day as a guide):

Breakfast: Whole grain toast with eggs
Snack: Yogurt and with a little granola or high fiber cereal
Lunch: Salad topped with grilled chicken with an olive oil vinaigrette
