I’m trying. I’m trying, I’m really trying and it just doesn’t seem to be helping. I try to make good food choices and I work out every morning 45 minutes of cardio and 15-20minutes of strength training. This is what I’ve eaten today:
Breakfast 2 peices low carb toast, w/I can’t believ it’s not butter and strawberries
Snack: yogurt (lite and fit) and pretzels
lunch: popcorn (microwave) and carrots
Does this really seem bad? I cannot lose a pound to save my life!

it is not really bad but. it doesn’t have healthy fats, leafy greens and protein, so add those and keep moving
Thanks. Thanks for the advice, I don’t have much protein I guess, I usually do some sort of protein for dinner, chicken or turkey . I just feel like if I eat alot I gain weight, if I don’t eat alot I still don’t lose any weight. I have a very unhealthy realtionship with food, and I know this is part of my problem. Perhaps I should forgo the popcorn and go get a sald from the salad bar?
great idea. no croutons! how about raw unsalted seeds, nuts, an HB egg or a bit of tuna instead?
yea missnb is right..I found that. if I eat like that, all I do is gain weight. I am a firm beliver of eating more often 2-3 hrs or so and protein 1st and lots of vegis and some fruit. I just started last Thursday and I’ve lost somewhere between 3-5 lbs. Depending when I weight myself…lol
hmm. missnb is right. You’re not eating much veggies or protein. What does a typical full day look like?
I Agree. You should try to have a bit of protien with each meal will help you feel fuller too. Its my understanding not enough protien with your carbs causes your body to dip into your muscle for protien.
You are eating a lot of carbs.. and almost no protein.Perhaps if you switched the popcorn/carrots for lunch to a nice salad with 4 oz chicken breast. Switch the pretzels for carrot and celery sticks. Also, maybe switch the bread for 1/2 cup Fibre One cereal and an egg? Maybe that would help.
Helpful Advice. You need to make sure that you are eating at least 1200 calories a day. If you try to eat any fewer calories than this, your body will go into starvation mode and actually retain fat. You’re doing great on the exercise! You just need to make sure your body is getting the nutrients it needs. Good luck!
Others have touched on diet, but your exercise. description is quite vague. What is involved in those 45 min of cardio and 15-20 min of strength?
Also, conventional wisdom says to allow your muscles to rest 48 hours in between strength training sessions. Maybe you’re doing upper body one day and lower the next, but that’s generally not the most efficient way to lift.
I’d probably be. starving and cranky if I ate what you’d eaten today.
Your meals and snacks are essentially ALL carbs…mostly simple carbs, too (no whole grains). And where are your fruits and veggies?
Meals should have a good balance of complex carbs/fiber, protein, and some healthy fat. Fiber and protein help fill you up, and fats slow digestion so you stay full longer. If you eat meals and snacks of nothing but carbs, it’s very quickly digested and causes extreme changes in blood sugar levels. For most people, this means you are starving again about an hour after you eat. Also, eating tons of carbs makes your body hold on to water like crazy.
Just as an idea, I know I’d be personally a lot happier with a day that looked more like this (using your current day as a guide):
Breakfast: Whole grain toast with eggs
Snack: Yogurt and with a little granola or high fiber cereal
Lunch: Salad topped with grilled chicken with an olive oil vinaigrette
That doesnt seem to be enough protein and. veggies. Also, for me personally, popcorn and carrots are more like snack food than lunch food …
I don’t think you’re. getting enough calories in. You need something more substantial than just toast and popcorn. Try eating more fruits and veggies until they fill you up. Add a green smoothie to your daily meal plan. It will clean you out and nourish you.
Seems “carby”. I would add more veggies, lean protein and some healthy fat.
No reason for toast to be low carb and ditch the fake butter.
I might add cottage cheese or greek yogurt to breakfast.
The yogurt is too sugary and the pretzels too processed. Maybe have a handful of nuts and some veggies instead?
Have some protein for lunch. A salad topped with chicken perhaps.
Are you eating dinner?
How does this current diet make you feel?

your not eating the right kind of foods. or the right amounts. Try eating 2- 3oz of protien at every meal with a half cup of unrefined carbs. Eat every 3 hours. Try to make smarter food choices like berries, greens & vegies for your carb choices. Try to limit dairy, sugar, flour and salt as much as possible. You will see a difference.
Not enough calories and not enough protein. Have more protein with each meal and keep the sugar low. Seems like you are starving yourself. Are you even eating dinner?
