Anybody have luck with the Medifast plan?. A stock broker I met today said he lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks and his wife lost 40 lbs. in 6 months. He claimed he doesn’t have the hunger pangs that I am currently having with my diet.
The box said it has been around since 1980 and recommended by 15,000 doctors. Think I might give it a try and was wondering if anyone here had any success with it?
Thanks

i wouldnt. you cant eat that way the rest of your life so he will gain it back. try acai instead you can use it with your curent plan and its cheaper than medi too and i ben on it 6 days and am down 15 lbs
15 lbs in 6 days?. How much weight do you have to lose? That is a lot in such a short period. I tried acai and didn’t see any results out of the ordinary. Ate right, exercised, lost a pound or two a week. Could have done that without spending all the money on acai.
actually it was 15 in 3. b/c this is a new week and i dieted since tue but didnt start acai til wed. was your acai pyre organic freeze dried? it has to be to work.
LOLOLOLOL! §.
whats so funny?. im not kidding last tue i was 180.6 lbs. the next day i started with the acai (wed) thur, fri weighed 166.2 lbs on Sat. i dont give a rats butt if you you think im lying.
what acai. do you use??
15 pounds of what?. Because there is no berry in the world that can cause you to lose 15 pounds of FAT in 3 days. It just ain’t happenin’.
It works, but. It tastes nasty. I felt like crap on it. Couldn’t work out because it was so few calories I felt weak all the time and gained the weight back as soon as I was off it.
Better idea: Eat right. Exercise. It’s that simple.
capsules no taste. and you still have to eat right and exercise
was talking about medifast, not acai capsules §.
Over the short term,. it works the same as EVERY other diet out there.
Newness, “This time is going to be different,” the placebo effect and , to a great extent , desperation mean that EVERY diet will contribute to an initial loss of weight. Every single one.
Now, if you’re interested in long term health, learning to eat well and learning to take care of your body. NONE of these works.
And, please, use some common sense here: If a product has been around since 1980, it has received much attention, advertising, pr and brand recognition (worthy or not). If it ACTUALLY WORKED, don’t you think that everyone would have reaped benefits and that the company would have garnered actual recognition for its contribution (a Nobel wouldn’t be out of place here)not some meaningless “recommendation ” from 15,000 doctors?
It is junk. Save your money. Learn about food and nutrition and how you can feed your body to make it strong and healthy.
*steps down from soapbox*
you shouldn’t be having hunger pangs. with your current diet. Eat more. Especially green, leafy veggies, soups made of clear broth with tons of veggies and lean proteins, and other low calorie, high volume foods. They’ll help keep you feeling full without adding a lot of calories to your day.
Hunger pangs are not something that should be experienced when your goal is to make healthy, long-lasting lifestyle changes, which is what you need to do in order to lose weight and keep it off for life. It is possible to find a diet that works for you, keeps you full, energized and happy and at a healthy weight. It takes a lot of trail and error, a lot of monitoring and knowing yourself. But once you figure out what it is that works for you, what will work for you for life, all the work you put in on the front end will be worth it.
I have to agree. I tried a similar diet at a clinic, spent way tooo much money, lost 40lbs. sounds great until I tell you that when I was in maintenance mode, I gained all of it back, and then some. Only eating shakes and supplement bars is not the thing to do!!!
Medifast. I lost 45lbs on Medifast, and am still in the process of getting another 40 off. I have become a health coach for Take Shape for Life, a subsidiary of Medifast, because I believe so much in the program. I have many friends and family members who have lost the weight and kept it off. The food isnt really that bad. And the bad feelings usually go away after the first 2-3 days. Hunger is controlled and you should feel great. If you are interested email me at wendifor@comcast.net
