• Food Addicts support group. Does anyone know if there is a group or an organization that is doing this sort of thing in the Twin Cities area? I think this would be a good thing to get started. Your thoughts?

  • Millet vs Quinoa.. Does anyone cook with either of these ingredients.

I have heard that both can be substituted for rice but most recipes I have seen call for Quinoa.

I was just curious because I would love to start cooking with them but when I went to the grocery store I could get a bag of Millet for cheaper and it was twice as big as the bag of Quinoa.

    Thanks

  • thursday breakfast?. this morning i had a plain nonfat greek yogurt with a 100 calorie pack of almonds, a sprinkle of cinnamon and a small handful of green grapes mixed in. bought them on a whim, but they hit the spot. drinking coffee with cinnamon and a splash of whole milk now.

for snack before lunch i have some finely chopped cabbage and broccoli mixed with green bell pepper, a dozen baby shrimp and tj’s aioli garlic mustard sauce.
so far my belly is liking this whole snack before lunch routine.

how was breakfast where you are?

  • Good Morning ladies §.

  • does atkins work???. I want to start Atkins… any one know if it actually works?

  • bad surprise after lunch :( . (this is weirdly similar to the post below but i think they were a troll? idk) AAANNNYWAYS husby and i were really hungry and while he suggests pizza/frenchfries/or whatever other greasy thing he eats, i suggested Baja fresh… so we get there and i order the Veggie burrito but obviously took off the sourcream and cheese (eating “good and healthy” ofcourse, and not wanting to ruin the 100calories i burned on my short run this morning..) anyways, It left me with a burrito stuffed with lettuce, grilled (but not even slightly greasy) onions and peppers, some black beans (fresh, not mashed with lard) and a tiny bit of rice.. well i get home and feel great about my good choices i made, but after some internet research, i realise that my good choices were actually about 750 calories… maaaaaaaan… maybe someone will say something bad about me like they did the arbys person down a few posts, but i genuinely didnt realise this could be so high in calories. i figured 300 for the tortilla and like 200 for the contents.. at least i got a new yoga mat and resistance bands… fat free yogurt for dinner

  • AM Cardio / food. Hi!

I currently am doing cardio in the AM .. Im usually up btw 5 and 520 am and to the gym by 615-630. I usually do 30-45 min and then shower and change and dont eat until 745 am. Im usually hungry when I get up, but I have read conflicting info regarding to eat or not to eat before the gym. I eat plain oatmeal with flax and walnuts with a 1/2 of a banana and 3 egg whites after my workout, but I am usually hungry an hour and a half to 2 hours later.

My question is what is the DiFo opinion on eating before working out? and if I eat what should I eat? the last couple of mornings Ive ate 1 hard boiled egg before the gym.. It seems to help a bit, but Im still starving when its time to eat. oh I also drink 16 oz water before I leave the house.

A side question. Fruit – the sugar is good sugar, but still sugar lol should I limit how much fruit I eat? I love it, but Im sure too much of anything is not good ..

Sorry for the lengthy post, but thank u in advance for any help!

  • late night munchie advice needed. I’m 41 years old, 5′9″/160lbs and have been working towards a ‘lean look’. I’ve got good definition overall but I want to work on the blob around my belly button and remaining love handles. I bike to work 4x/week total about 60 miles. I also play bike polo which is a pretty intense game lasting a couple of hours at least per session (4x/week) which adds another 60 or 70 miles.

When I get home from polo I’m completely wiped out. It’s usually around 10-10:30 pm and at that point I’m STARVING. I’ve read that it’s not a good idea to eat much after 8pm or so if you’re going to bed near 11-12pm. But what usually ends up happening is I pig out on carbs or junk food (pasta, cereal, ice cream– crap basically)

I do eat a healthy dinner around 5pm before I go to polo, but it’s on the smaller side since I’m about to go work out. I Usually have a pretty big lunch around noon, mostly ‘big salad’ with chicken breast.

So the question- what do people do when they get home from a later night (like after 9pm) workout? Protein shake? Clif bar? I have a really hard time with 10:30-11 pm munchy attack. What should I do to combat this?

  • ARBYS NUTRITION FACTS. I decide to eat lunch with my husband today and since I am on a diet I stayed away from places such at Mcdonalds burger king ect. Well we decided to eat at Arbys because of the location being close to where he was working. Well comes to find out that the BLT has 880 Calaries and 46g of fat per serving. I found other simalar high cal high fat foods on the nutrition facts when I looked at them online. the bread is to blame for the largest portion of the cals and fat. Here is a link to the nutrition fact web site for Arbys for anyone that is interested

Aparently my account is to new to post links but if you go to
