Caffeine. I am prone to nausea if I take a multivitamin on an empty stomach, but something new has been happening here.
I’ve been getting nauseous from caffeine as well. I have found that as long as the caffeine is working in my system, I cannot have an empty stomach. If I have a large cup of coffee with a light meal, I have to remember to keep eating. If I don’t, as soon as my meal has digested, I start developing hypoglycemic symptoms–cold sweats, nausea, concentration issues, and that lightheaded feeling.
I had hypoglycemia when I was pregnant, and I never fully kicked it–I still get symptoms occasionally if I’m working out too hard on an empty stomach, but this is the first time I’ve ever experienced them from something chemical.
Obviously, caffeine is a stimulant, but why (and how) would a stimulant bring on such symptoms? I thought most stimulants kinda kill the appetite, not stoke it to the point of nausea and dizziness.
