  • Poll time: Santa is coming. So I have a few minutes to procrastinate here at work, hence it’s time for a poll.

Santa is coming to your house, but due the recent economic downturns, he only gets to spend $100 on you. What would you like him to bring you?

You can spend all your $100 on diet related stuff, or fitness related stuff, or a combination of the two, but you only get the total of $100 and it’s got to fall in one of those two categories.

  • What’s for Christmas dinner?. For me,

    shrimp creole

    a nice bread

    pumpkin pie

I am completely fooded out and doing something different.

    How about you?

  • Willow Tree Chicken Pies. I had two daughters 12 months apart. After my second was born I lost 80lbs. in 3 months, by eating Willow Tree Chicken Pies.

I divided the smaller pies into thirds and ate a third with as many vegetables as I wanted. I worked great and they’re tasty. I don’t work for them or anything, and I’m not a registered dietician. It just worked for me.

  • completely OT. but good for a laugh. (Hey it’s slow in here, why not?)

  • any one ever try oxy powder?. Hi,

I am trying to do a little last minute housekeeping before the holidays.

Ah, ok. I am looking to lose a few extra pounds, (maybe like 5) and someone mentioned oxy powder to me?

    Anyone try it?

    Is it safe?

    Any other remedies you use?

    Thanks!

    Peace

  • whey protein & nutritional yeast.

So I’d like to add high protein sources of food to my diet, but I’d prefer not to eat fish or meat on a regular basis.

I checked out whey protein at the local health food store and it runs like $18 for a tin.

Does anyone eat the stuff and like it? I’ve added soy protein to my diet years ago, but not recently.

Also, nutritional yeast appears to be a high quality supplement for many micronutrients. Anyone eat that stuff on a regular basis?

Also, how much of either does anyone eat?

  • Should Fat People just Suck it up?. I’m not looking for sympathy, just making the point that people see food differently than other addictions. A friend of mine says, “If only I could quit food cold turkey…”; Unlike the alcoholic, I can’t quit eating or going to places where people eat. Most people see overeating as a matter of will power, not addiction. So tell me – do you think food is a real addiction? Do you see it differently than other addictions? Are we ‘fat people’ just looking to be the next victim group – over sensitive and seeking protection by the politically correct gang?
